Hi! My name is Theo, and I'm a Computer Science and Japanese student at Boston University. I've interned at multiple international startups, and I'm currently studying abroad at Columbia University's KCJS program at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. I'm experienced in full-stack web development, with strong fundamental knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and probability and statistics, and am particularly interested in machine learning and natural language processing. I also have experience in UI/UX, graphic design, video editing, and game development. As the former President of the Boston University Japanese Student Association, I led and coordinated with 25 Executive Board members to host cultural and social events with up to 300 people. Our mission statement is to connect the large Japanese international student community, Japanese-Americans, Japanese exchange students, and those studying or are interested in Japanese language and culture. Additionally, I've had the privilege of interning at three international tech startups, Gitstart based in San Francisco, Timewitch Inc. based in Tokyo and Cardinal Blue Inc. based in Taipei. At each of these companies, I leveraged my knowledge in full-stack development as well as ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse, international team. Finally, I've studied abroad twice in Tokyo and London, and am currently studying with Columbia University's Kyoto Consortium of Japanese Studies at Doshisha University. in the fall of 2024. First, I studied at Boston University's London campus, where I wrapped up many of my general education requirements while experiencing a historic and modern European city. Then, I studied with IES Abroad in Tokyo, and dramatically increased my Japanese ability while learning to live day to day in a potential place I could spend my part of my career.
