Mechanical Design Engineer working for the ISIS pulsed neutron and muon source at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.Specializing in the detailed design and optimization of contemporary accelerator system including resistive magnet systems, charge-exchange injection and negative ion sources. Particularly involved in the conceptual design and development of the next generation RAL Penning H- Ion source, which is destined for the prototype Front End Test Stand (FETS) and other possible high power proton drivers. 3D design and integration, plus the production of 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings, performed using SolidEdge.Structural, thermal and combined thermal-CFD analyses performed using ANSYS Workbench and its integrated CFX solver.
