Field to Table is an Arlington-based, 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to building communities throughout Northern Virginia through the encouragement of healthy eating. The organization is part of the nationwide “locavore” movement, which encourages people to reestablish their relationship with the land and purchase food from local farmers and food preparers.

Managing Partner and Chief Technology Officer of Between the Lines - Indicators (BTLI), a data analytics firm that specializes in the development of predictive economic indicators from open source narrative. BTLI does this by anchoring our analytics in social science theory and advanced text analytics to identify market trends with a broader set of nontraditional data. One such indicator, an uncertainty index, has been developed by BTLI and has proven to be strongly correlated to certain key economic benchmark interest rates, volatility indexes, and the price of precious metals.

Accountable for the selection and funding, project management, and market assessment (andcommercialization potential) of various IR&D projects.Technical:- Provided technical consulting to the Human, Social, Cultural, and Behavioral (HSCB) modeling program managed through the Office of Naval Research. Applied specific knowledge in computational social science and economics in the support of specific research projects. - Provided technical and analytical support to the several Defense Science Board Task Forces including: Task Force on Trends and Implications of Climate Change for National and International Security (current). Division Leadership:Led scientific and technical consulting division with over $10M in annual revenue. Managed profit and loss, supervision and development of 50+ technical staff, business development, and implementation of best practices in project management. Significant experience in writing proposals and the management of federal government contracts. While leading this division,consistently achieved annual revenue growth rates exceeding 14%.Corporate Support:Directed several corporate initiatives including:- Renewable energy technology development project in partnership with University of Virginia, Commonwealth of Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Work involved the creation of aprivate / public consortium in order to pursue a DOE opportunity in the advanced prototype development of renewable energy technologies.- Review and assessment of corporate communication policy and practices.- Evaluation and development of a corporate new hire orientation program.- Evaluation, development, and implementation of a career path structure and pay scale for scientific and technical personnel.Technical:Provided technical and analytical support to the Defense Science Board Study on The Role and Status of DoD Red Teaming Activities (September 2003).

Provided program management and technical consulting support to various DoD science and technology client organizations. Work involved reviewing state-of-the-art technology areas for new R&D programs conducting scientific and technical evaluations in specific topical areas, monitoring and providing technical assistance on research efforts, and assisting in the development of transition pathways to military and commercial user communities. Conducted market and competitive analysis which helped define service offerings and resolve resource skill imbalances. Supervisor, Engineering Systems Department, General Technology Division:Managed department of technical staff whose primary function was the development and support of tool control / manufacturing systems software for semiconductor facility. Responsible for personnel management, technical direction, and insertion of software development process. Directed software development process quality efforts at Manassas facility for Baldridge Award qualification. Advisory Engineer, Engineering Systems Department, General Technology Division: Technical project lead for the development and maintenance of tool control / manufacturing systems software for metal deposition tools. Developed software that interfaced with logistics system to provide real-time manufacturing status and quality control reports. Recognized for developing applications that promoted the training of manufacturing operators in basic software diagnostics and support. Staff Engineer, Device Packaging Engineering, General Technology Division:Management of quality and efficiency within the device placement sector. Work involved the coordination of engineering, maintenance and manufacturing in order to resolve issues and meet operational goals. Initiated and directed the introduction of just-in-time production techniques as well as the design and development of a manufacturing information system for production management. Generated cost models for electronic packaging manufacturing processes to justify capital expenditures.
