This adventure had me taking a chance abroad. Exploring the real estate world and what Dubai had to offer. Although ultimately it wasn’t for me, there were great things to learn. Such as interacting with a whole host of different cultures due to the colourful and vibrant population in Dubai and the global interest in their real estate market. Also, making the move to Dubai allowed me to work with some fantastic people and allowed me to learn how a different country operates, this was highly insightful. This I feel has rounded me as a person.

Further developing on the skills and knowledge gained as a Handover Specialist I have now transferred into a more sales oriented role. Using my product knowledge I have developed, allows me to help customers build up their ideal vehicles as well as providing advice on what options would or wouldn't be essential for them.Regular updates for my customers on the progress of their orders keeps them in the loop and further builds a rapport with me and with the brand. This gives the customers the best experience possible as they are informed of all new updates making them feel involved with the process of their new car order.

As a handover specialist I was the "oil around the departmental cogs" of the dealership. Operating between departments to make sure the customers experience was second to none. My role was multifaceted, there was a customer facing side and a logistics and operational side. The customer facing side of the role involved talking to customers, walking them through any aspects of the cars they want to go over. As such I needed to have broad understanding of the product so I could answer the vast majority of questions that came my way. At point of handover I would take the customer through every detail of the vehicle, pairing their devices and making sure their vehicle is properly integrated into their life and the customer is fully comfortable with their new vehicle. The Logistics and Operational side to the role involved following each customer vehicle through the relevant pre-delivery processes from the point it comes off the transport lorry. This would include making sure the vehicles get to the workshop, bodyshop, valet compound and showroom prior to the customers collection date. Also, I managed the dealership showroom, making sure it was always presentable and filled with available stock. Making sure there was a vast array of eye catching and exciting product available to show potential customers.On top of this, I helped organise and execute work events such as the local "50 years of BMW M" celebrations throughout 2022, as well as other work events.Plus, I have helped run the dealership social media, posting real-world events that have been going on in and around the dealership in a bid to make it more personable to people on social media.

In this role I developed important skills related to finance and cash handling. I helped customers with their day to day banking needs, whether that be taking cash out or sending money where they needed it to go as well as providing customers with any documents they need relating to their banking accounts. I was the first point of call for any customer coming into the building society, as such I dealt with a broad range of questions and queries, all helping to further develop my customer facing and communication skills.This was a great role to have during my studies of business and management at university. As it provided me with real world financial experience and context to some aspects of my studies.
