We transformed the market for individual disability insurance sales - a market historically limited to 1-on-1 broker-client conversation - by enabling mass, technology-enabled distribution.

(Acquired by Mutual of Omaha 2017). SimpleDisability was an InsurTech platform for dramatically accelerated underwriting of individual disability insurance policies. Using sophisticated proprietary analytics, we reduced processing times and costs by over 90%. Specifically:▪ We brought the underwriting time from 41 days / 22 person-hours to 3 days / 2.1 person-hours, and▪ We brought the carrier underwriting cost down from ~$5000 to ~$120As the Founder and CEO, I regularly presented to Fortune 500 C-level executives, securing partnerships with many of the country's largest insurance firms, notably:▪ Reinsurance: Swiss Re, Munich Re, Hannover, and Berkshire Hathaway. ▪ Insurance: AXA, Principal, AIG, Transamerica, Mass Mutual, Mutual of Omaha, AON, USAA, UNUM, Zurich, and others. I sold my business to Merrill Lynch advisors in 2006 to pursue a startup idea and so began what would become a 15+ year run as a serial entrepreneur.
