On top of my electrical roles, I am now also responsible for supporting the facility maintenance, operations and production teams on automation & measurement technologies. This includes interfacing with the Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) through the use of industrial communications networks.

Scoping•Define a clear and concise justification for engineering work orders. •Complete FEED (Front End Engineering Design) for upcoming projects.•Communicate with operations and electricians to ensure the optimal solution comprising of reliability, operability and capital cost.Detail Design•Create electrical engineering CWPs striving to be practical and error free. Collaborate on multidisciplinary CWPs.•Initiate and champion MOCs.•Develop equipment specifications for electrical equipment.•Complete arc flash analysis, load flow studies, and relay settings & TCC (time current curves) in ETAP per the latest codes such as CSA Z462 and IEEE 1584.•Check and approve vendor prints to ensure they adhere to site standards, industry practices and CEC CSA C22.1-18.•Efficiently and effectively communicate with drafters and designers to complete drawings.•Create single line (SLD one-line), schematic (SD), and wiring diagrams (WCD) using CAD. •Design EHT circuits and create EHT isometrics in Microstation (AutoCAD)•Produce cable, panel, and setpoint schedules.•Add technical knowledge to Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) during MOC reviews. •Supervise a team of 3 engineers and designers and manage 3rd party electrical engineers. •Assign work to mesh with skill levels of team members to achieve project goals and schedules. •Approve and authenticate technical drawings. Review CWPs for constructability and technical accuracy.Construction•Work closely with superintendents, coordinators, and vendors to ensure work is completed as engineered with a focus on frontline worker safety.•Review and approve Requests for Information (RFI) certify they conform to code while still being a practical and reasonable compromise.Support•Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve electrical equipment problems during unplanned outages and maintenance activities.•Responsible for adding electrical knowledge during Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.

Bitumen Production - Small ProjectsCommunicated with operators to define electrical issues and solve those issue with electrical and instrumentation engineers.Responsible for creating the Expense Project Approval forms, the Construction Work Packages (CWP), and the Management of Change for both the Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering issues.Redlined documents, including Single Line Diagrams, Schematic Diagrams, Electrical Layout Plans and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, in MicroStation and AutoCAD to be included in CWP.

Responsible for the smooth running of the factory. As a member of a team of 5 forklift operators, I handled incoming berries, stocking the factory lines and storing the produce for shipping. Communicated with incoming farmers and outgoing trucks.

Managed and coordinated the local retail location, to make sure all tasks were completed punctually (approx. 8 co-workers).

Responsible for the safety of all rowers (approx. 30 adults).Taught technique to rowers.
