I am a practicing architect, engineer, and environmental technologist working on sustainable systems to ameliorate air pollution in diverse biomes and urban environments with a Ph.D. from the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE) a research center of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute based in NYC. I am also a research collaborator at the Center for Architecture Ecosystems (CEA) at Yale University. My research is inherently interdisciplinary, merging twenty-five years of experience in building construction and fabrication with applied research on building systems and environmental initiatives on an urban scale. During the past two years, I have served my beloved city in Greece, where I come from, as a Scientific Advisor and as a Strategy and Management Consultant to the mayor of Chania in Crete for subjects related to sustainability in the urban environment and public space.I have taught and lectured at leading academic institutions, such as Syracuse University and Columbia University's Global Networking Programs in Greece. My work has been featured in several architectural exhibitions and venues, including the Venice Biennale, the Design Hub of Barcelona in Spain, the Oslo Architecture Triennale in Norway, the Le Lieu Unique Center for contemporary culture in France, the Istanbul Design Biennale in Turkey, the Onassis Cultural Center in Greece, The NYCx Design week and the Museum on the Seam in Israel.I believe in research projects that cross disciplines, and I enjoy challenges in new ventures, which help me establish a better understanding of complex problems. Recently, I have founded United Atmospheres, an experimental research, design, and consultancy practice based between New York and Athens.
