During my master's thesis, I conducted an in-depth qualitative study exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in clinical trials. This research involved designing and implementing a robust research methodology, including developing a comprehensive literature review, constructing a targeted interview guide, and conducting semi-structured interviews with healthcare and health-tech professionals. I employed reflexive thematic analysis to interpret the data, using the Socio-Technical System (STS) framework to examine the interplay between AI technologies and human elements in clinical trial settings. Throughout the project, I managed various aspects of the research process, from participant recruitment to data collection, analysis, and reporting. I dived into a variety of topics inside innovation such as Digital twins, Decentralized Clinical Trials, AI-assisted RWE, AI-enabled Precision Medicine and Electronic Data Capture Systems (EDCs). The thesis culminated in identifying key themes related to AI's impact on clinical trial efficiency, challenges in adoption, ethical considerations, and future potential. This experience enhanced my expertise in AI applications within healthcare, qualitative research methods, and strategic problem-solving in technology-driven environments.

As a co-author of the EUCROF Benchmarking Project’s report, I contributed to a comprehensive analysis of the Contract Research Organization (CRO) landscape in Europe, assessing key economic parameters such as the number of companies, full-time equivalents (FTEs), revenue, and added value. This project involved data collection and analysis from 17 European countries, providing insights into the growth and economic trends within the clinical research sector. I focused on United Kingdom CROs and more specifically my role included:-Data collection and analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy. -Assessment of the economic performance of CROs.-Addressing challenges such as data availability and resource constraints.-Comparing trends between 2019 and 2021 to evaluate the impact of external factors on the CRO landscape, including new clinical trial regulations and global financial situations.-Co-authoring the final report, presenting key findings.

Spearheaded the development of an emergency mobile app to save lives aiming to enhance public health and safety. An award-winning startup that achieved recognition for its innovative approach to crisis management, focusing on bridging the gap between emergency services and the community. My role was multifaceted. I leveraged my ongoing studies in Health Economics, Policy, and Management to contribute to the strategic and operational dimensions of the company. This included devising a comprehensive business plan that outlined our vision, mission, and the steps required to achieve our objectives. I developed a detailed revenue model, projecting the financial viability and sustainability of our venture over the short and long term.I conducted extensive market analysis, determining market access strategies, and estimating the market size to identify potential opportunities. I also delved into the economic aspects and burden of the health issues we aimed to address, providing a solid rationale for the startup's value proposition to potential investors and stakeholders.Budgeting was another critical area of my involvement, where I ensured that our financial resources were allocated efficiently.Furthermore, I navigated the complex landscape of law, regulations, and accounting to ensure our startup was compliant with all relevant legal and financial obligations. As a research intern at the Stem Cell Research Lab, I worked on the project titled "Production of pure mesDA neurons by pluripotent stem cell culture homogenization through SBDS knock-down." During this time, I gained hands-on experience in handling human pluripotent stem cells, including induced and embryonic types. I successfully maintained cell cultures at high purity without antibiotics and was involved in various stages of cell culture, including seeding, maintenance, and visual inspection for differentiation using microscopy.I was trained in differentiating pluripotent stem cells into ventral midbrain dopamine neuron progenitors and terminally differentiated dopamine neurons. My responsibilities included coating cell culture plates, preparing chemically defined media, and mastering advanced differentiation protocols to produce high-purity dopamine progenitors. Additionally, I learned to perform siRNA-mediated knock-down of target proteins using lipofectamine transfection techniques.I also contributed to sample preparation for liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry analysis and fluorescence microscopy. Throughout the project, I demonstrated strong motivation, eagerness to learn, and the ability to work independently, enhancing my technical skills and critical thinking in stem cell research.
