About Theodor Schultz
I am passionate about engineering design, problem solving and team building. I am a hard worker with an effective leadership skillset who likes to take on challenges and doesn't shy away from responsibilities.During my studies, I developed a wide range of mechanical engineering skills with specialization in engineering design, product development and automation. I was able to apply this theoretical knowledge in various student-engineering jobs, projects and internships in different companies and institutes in parallel to my university education. After finishing my bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering in Germany, I started my career at Bosch in Germany and developed assembly stations for the manufacturing lines of ABS/ESP braking systems with a high level of automation. Typical processes included precision pick and place applications as well as dispense, staking and heat staking, pressing, cutting and inspection stations.Soon after moving to Colorado in the states in July 2018, I joined the Mikron Corporation Denver and focused on the mechanical design of high-speed, cam driven assembly lines with even shorter cycle times. For various pharmaceutical and medical customer products across many projects I designed and debugged stations for processes like laser marking, labeling, leak testing, push/pull and torque tests, ultrasonic welding and laser welding, UV curing, vision inspection, escapements and tracks for bowl feeders as well as work piece carriers like pallets and pucks. In recent years, I have focused on gantry based feeding systems like tray handlers and their integration into large assembly line layouts. I was involved in the initial development of a prototype tray handlers and drove the change to improve and standardize it with a team of engineers under my leadership. We achieved a modular, scalable system that could handle multiple variants of thermoformed and molded trays as well as multiple variants of customer parts, allowed for flexible autonomy durations and could support pick and place operations up to 200 parts per minute.I am currently leading an international team of engineers from Singapore over Lithuania to Denver that customizes these tray handler systems for multiple projects in the US and Europe as well as leading the local debug and ramp-up of these systems for final assembly lines in Denver prior to implementation.
Listed skills include Project Management, Computer Aided Design, Problem Solving, Product Development, and 22 others.
