Adjunct Faculty MemberWoodbury University Jan 2016 - Jul 2017Burbank, CaTo my great pleasure, I was asked to teach a first-time new course to a class of undergraduate seniors at Woodbury University, a private, non-profit, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Burbank, CA. Though small, the University is venerable having been founded in 1884.Four years ago, the University launched a degree program called Media Technology. This spring the first crop of program seniors are getting ready to graduate. To support this, the department created a class called "Media Tech, Professional Practices". Jesse Gilbert, the department chair and I met last fall, resulting in my taking on the challenge of launching this class. More importantly, of taking on the challenge of helping to launch this bright group of seniors into the real world of Media Technology. The course has been likened to drinking from a fire hose in that we cover a broad swath of topics including: * Business Structures - Guidance to Employees, Contractors and Entrepreneurs, * The Resume and The Interview, * Intellectual Property - Patents, Trademarks, and Copyright, * Defining a Project - Proposals and Budgets --- and that's only 4 of 12 weeks!I am thrilled to be teaching again, honored by the task, and will likely expand this area of my endeavors over the coming period. -
