Mandy Purdie Email and Phone Number
I’m a twin (no, not identical!) & one of six kids from a big family. My childhood was tough—my dad passed when I was 16, my brother struggled, & my older siblings were much older. Through it all, my mum was the peacemaker, holding our family together.Maybe an odd way to start a profile but this shaped me in two important ways: I became a bit of a people pleaser, & I developed a knack for reading people. I quickly learned to understand what makes people tick & how to use empathy with others—an essential skill throughout my career.Fast forward to age 16, I started working & have sold everything from Industrial fasteners to engineers & mobile phones to advertising & animal microchips (ever chased 300 ostriches around a field? No? I thought not!), & more. I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, & while I loved some roles, others not so much —just like the people and bosses I worked with. For 18 years, I also lived through domestic abuse - yes I know heavy topic - but that experience, while difficult, taught me something crucial: everyone brings unseen struggles to work. For many, work is a sanctuary, & we don’t always know what our colleagues are carrying with them. It made me passionate about building workplaces where people can truly thrive. We spend so much of our lives at work, so it should be fulfilling, challenging (in a good way), & even fun. You should be able to form real relationships—friends with colleagues. That’s what keeps you productive, loyal, & doing your best work. You don’t need a toxic environment where your boss or co-workers make things unbearable. For 25 years, I’ve helped businesses get the best out of their people, ensuring they’re placed in environments where they can grow. But recruitment is only part of the solution. We first work with our clients to ensure they’re the kind of employer people actually want to work for. The goal is to build resilient, engaged teams that perform at their best every day. This approach results in happy clients with low attrition and a motivated workforce. And candidates who genuinely love where they work.I’ve spent my career helping businesses improve their workplace well-being, embed mental toughness, and build resilience in their workforce. I’m a Fellow of the Recruitment Employment Confederation, Sussex Business Woman of the Year 2015, & a trustee of the Eastbourne Education Business Partnership (2024) plus a degree-qualified Career & Executive Coach.Specialties: Recruitment in engineering, manufacturing, viticulture, finance, & food processing. We’re also GLAA licensed.

Experienced Recruitment Owner - Changing Lives For The Better One Job & One Person At A TimeRecruitment South East Ltd May 2011 - PresentRobertsbridge, England, United KingdomIf I'm honest, I left my last role at Sussex Recruitment a bit disillusioned. I thought I was going to open an Antique Emporium! I jest you not! But you can take the girl out of recruitment, but not recruitment out of the girl, it seems, so now was the time to start my own company & do recruitment the way it should be done! Had I thought about the name for longer than 5 mins I wouldn't have the intials RSE that's for sure! So we are specialist recruiters. But what else? We’re really good at what we do & we’re modest, Ok, not modest. but realistic. We do have a lot of expertise, an ability to cut to the quick of what you need & a dogged determination to bring out the best in your team and find the right person. Not just any person. We don’t do that. Our approachYou need results. To increase your productivity. To improve performance, P&L, retention or morale? Whatever success looks like for you, our aim is to help you achieve it. And we do that by providing a whole recruitment service and by working with you, not for you.We make the process stress-free. For you anyway. We know you’re busy, so we filter the wheat from the chaff. If someone isn’t a good fit we’ll challenge your assumptions. We do it all with good grace, and we get it right first time. Why us? We’ve got a stack of experience across the team for a start. A lot of top end industry and sector knowledge which we’re always happy to share. A sense of humour. Essential and deployed as and when necessary. A genuine desire to make your life easier and your business better for having worked with us.If our sharp wit and innate charm haven’t persuaded you (oh come on, we’re recruiters), then we’ll let our breadth of experience do the talking. You’ll see from our profiles that our team members have their own MD, strategic leadership, management & marketing experience, we’ve got skills in neuroscience, coaching & mentoring as well as our sector experience. When combined, this gives us a unique perspective. -
Managing DirectorThe Wellbeing And Performance Company Ltd Nov 2018 - Jun 2023United KingdomI set this up alongside the recruitment company because lord knows everyone we deal with needed some help with their mental resilience, mental toughness, and mental health, We recognised that clients were looking for solutions to their people problems. And helped them ensure they & their people were stronger, more #resilient, #creative, #productive & #engaged & at their best at all times using "The appliance of #neuroscience" #mentaltoughnessWe understood that lifting capability needs to be as holistic as possible but that an eye on their return on investment in their people was also keySadly starting just before COVID hit everyone needed our services but no one wanted to pay for it and trying to run this and a recruitment company became impossible, one couldn't carry the other sadly
