I support the development of resident led action groups based in North Solihull while also expanding existing action plans while planning and organising community engagement and celebratory events. I also play a leading role in supporting local authority activities and services, spreading awareness in the North Solihull area. I create and deliver practical ideas to overcome issues, problems and geographic prejudices’. I actively work at overcoming barriers in the community to promote community cohesion. I have formed and supported new groups and I have built strong relationships with local authorities and partner organizations through effective partnership working. I have also set up community social media vehicles such as Facebook and Twitter to engage with those who would be considered isolated and to tap into the younger generation, while also having a professional online presence.I have helped and supported local constituted groups with bid writing to secure funds for small projects and activities that benefit the local community. A main focus of my work is with the younger members of the community some of which are offenders or who are at risk of offending. I support them and help them overcome their barriers and find activities or groups that interest them so that they can re-engage in positive activity. I am responsible for working towards set targets and providing regular updates on progress towards targets as well as updating the company system for measuring progress.I am a forward thinking and proactive person and work hard to ensure I am always ahead of scheduled targets through offering a supportive service to the community and working to reach common aims and goals using my leadership skills to develop and motivate others.
