I received my master’s in physics in May 2021 where I had to defend my review of frustrated magnetism rare-earth double perovskites to my committee and peers. I really enjoy complex problems and finding elegant solutions to challenging things that I come up against. I am currently a graduate research assistant in physics at Colorado State University where I have been developing new methods for spin wave analysis from neutron scattering data using machine learning and Bayesian statistics.I was the lead web developer and manager, social media manager, and marketing photographer at Hardin’s Natural Foods. I worked as a freelance developer for three years before I returned to school for my M.S. I used HTML/CSS, Javascript, Django, Python, and site-builders like Shopify/Squarespace/Wordpress with custom content injected for my clients.I have taught numerous labs and recitation lectures in the physics department for intro and upper-level classes including mechanics and modern physics lab. I redesigned the upper-level modern physics lab course in Python and created introductory Python teaching material for the students. I have participated in teaching workshops and have really found my love of working with students and my colleagues in my cohort.I am also a passionate photographer in a wide variety of styles. This began as a hobby for me when I was younger but through dedication and persistence, I made it into a career while I was out of school and have published multiple books.
