Having studied both business management and social work, I believe there is an educational marriage between the two fields which affirms the appropriateness for business to have a heart as it pursues profit, and for the not-for-profit organization to apply good business sense.Since 1985, I have enjoyed consulting with business leaders and not-for-profit organizations on planning, leadership, governance and employee issues. I specialize in group facilitation and training on a variety of topics, including customer service, diversity and inclusion, ethics, conflict management and funds development strategy. I am a certified trainer of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)©.A Professor of Management at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, I currently write a monthly column, "The Practical Prof," for the Reading Eagle's Business Weekly. The column is the basis for my book, The Practical Prof: Simple Lessons for Anyone who Works (released July 2013; Hollis Media Group). Some of my leadership includes: Chair, of the Alumni Council of the University of Penn's School of Social Policy and Practice; Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Greater Reading Alliance of Community Theatres; and, Film Commissioner at ReadingFilm, a program of Pennsylvania's Americana Region visitors bureau. In addition, I have extensive experience producing, writing and directing community theatre and film.
