Invested its $17 billion endowment across all asset classes, public and private, and directly managed proprietary investment portfolios as well as serving as the macro strategist for the Investment Committee. Led research on markets and asset allocation, identified market anomalies and trades to shift beta towards the most skewed risk/reward, hired and supervised investment staff, advocated hiring and termination of existing managers across all assets, vetted all investment decisions in every asset. Recruited, hired, or supervised and trained majority of the investment professionals during my time at HHMI.

Member of senior team managing Penn’s $3.5bn endowment under CIO Landis Zimmerman. Part of the four person team that built Penn’s alternative assets program. Worked across investment areas, with greatest focus on hedge fund strategies and real assets. Actively involved in private markets, venture and private equity and real estate, including serving on advisory boards. Emphasis on fundamentally oriented managers exploiting inefficiencies resulting from corporate actions, related securities’ pricing, distressed debt, equity overreactions long and short, volatility pricing, and some quantitative strategies. Assessed strategy and manager risk as both a fundamental and a quantitative measure. Evaluated funds’ analytical talent, conducted due diligence, and negotiated documents. Hired as an associate for a 2 year position; officially promoted to senior team after one year.
