Worked collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to assist in the development of individualized rehabilitative treatment plans. Contributed to the overall evaluation of the client. Observed and monitored clients’ progress, symptoms and behavioural changes and reports significant observations. Established, maintained and enhanced therapeutic relationships based on respect. Promoted independence for client while supporting them with activities of daily living such as personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, toileting needs, perineal care and incontinence supply changes; community appointments/errands/activities; and meal planning and preparation. Assisted in maintaining a safe environment for clients and the team. Participated in team meetings, engages in team planning and quality improvement activities.

Strength in Unity is a research project under SFU Health Science Department to understand the impact of mental health stigma amongst Asian men of 17 years and above. It's a nation wide study that both Calgary and Toronto has research teams to support this project locally in their area as well. As part of the research team, Bessie co-facilitated Acceptance Commitment based workshops and Communicty Contact Based workshops in Chinese as interventions to find out the effectiveness of the program for reducing mental health stigma among Asian men, particulaly Chinese speaking men.
