Working in conjunction with SRBC, PADEP, and other partnering agency staff in support of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load Midpoint (TMDL) Assessment Phase 3 Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP), and Pennsylvania TMDL -related projects. Modeling different management scenarios using a variety of modeling tools (e.g., CAST, MapShed, Model My Watershed, etc.), Geographic Information System (GIS) analyses, data processing and statistical operations, and scientific literature synthesis.

Junín, Junín

Supported the Peruvian National Park Service (Servicio Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado; SERNANP) as an Endangered Species Conservation Specialist at the Junín National Reserve and Historic Sanctuary of Chacamarca. Collaborated and networked with local and international entities to fortify an in situ conservation program for two endangered and endemic species of Telmatobius frogs (T. macrostomus and T. brachydactylus). Principal Investigator for USAID Small Project Assistance grant titled: High-Andean Frog Conservation through Capacity-Building. Promoted conservation initiatives to protect these endangered frog species through the strengthening of park rangers, increasing local student knowledge and establishing monitoring and data collection activities oriented to understand the conservation status of these species. Facilitated the first South American BioBlitz, presented research at national and international conferences, and published research results in the international journal Endangered Species Research.

Assessed the effectiveness of watershed-based restoration plans developed to maximize the ecological recovery of acid mine drainage impaired streams. Led field research trips for data collection of fish and benthic macroinvertebrate communities, water chemistry parameters, and physical habitat conditions. Prepared scientific reports for watershed groups. Assisted Ph.D. students with field and lab work. Taught large lecture sections, led weekly laboratory sections, and graded assignments and exams.

Identified adult and larval mosquito habitat for targeted control. Collected adult mosquitoes using gravid and light traps, and larval mosquitoes using dip samples to assess the threat of human disease. Monitored the effectiveness of surveillance and improved prevention and control measures. Recorded field data and prepared detailed control work reports. Participated in complaint calls and communicated with the general public and professionals.
