For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of making a living as a staffed journalist, honing my skills at two of the nation's greatest legacy publications to write about a range of fields, including arts and entertainment, sports and business. Along the way, I sought to cultivate my outlet's multicultural coverage, which is not a niche but rather a lens through which all sectors are better understood.Now journalism is at a crossroads, and so am I. What I didn't expect through simply pursuing the stories and subjects I was interested in as a reporter was that I would develop a professional reputation for explicating systems of injustice and amplifying the underserved.
