Horticultural therapy utilizes gardening activities in conjunction with traditional counseling techniques to meet specific therapeutic treatment goals. Horticultural therapy is a client-centered treatment model that seeks to enhance social, cognitive and physiological functioning with the primary goal of improving health and inspiring motivation for change. Supervising and providing training for therapists statewide. Training of state-wide case management staff in TBRI, Nurturing Parenting Programs and other relevant material for working with families and children with trauma histories. Created uniform agency Foster Care Orientation, Pre-Service and Emergency Behavioral Intervention training curriculum. Working with case management and direct care staff and foster/adoptive parents to provide trauma informed, therapeutic care to youth. Restructured the admission process to reduce admission times and streamline process for out of town referrals.
