I am one of those lucky people who loves her job! After graduate school, I began working with Outreach Therapies & Consulting, providing speech and language therapy through the Missouri First Steps Program. With time, my service delivery has become more varied and I now also work with children in their homes, daycares, private schools, and at the Marian Hope Center. My approach to therapy is functional and play-based. I prefer to incorporate the child's family and routines into my therapy sessions.I was working for Outreach when the owner, Angie Knight, co-founded the Marian Hope. Since its beginning in 2007, I have provided services in integrative therapy classes there. I have also assisted with the administrative and fundraising aspects of the organization and I continue to provide as much tech support as I can muster! In 2019, I accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer. I continue to see a few clients each week in addition to overseeing the daily operations of our organization's therapy services. I strive to foster an environment of respect and love where staff and families feel supported. I am always looking to learn new things, meet new people, and improved the quality of services we provide.I love to travel and have studied Spanish in both Costa Rica and Spain. I consider myself to be proficient in Spanish, but not quite fluent enough to be labeled a "bilingual therapist."Through Marian Hope, I have learned about the important link between the food we eat and how we think, feel, function, and behave. I believe strongly that proper nutrition can greatly enhance a child's ability to learn speech and language skills.In 2016, I joined Norwex as an Independent Sales Consultant. I had been using the products for years and am so pleased with the results. I love that I can clean more easily and efficiently while drastically reducing the chemicals and disposable plastic in our home. I'm not a sales person by nature, but my enthusiasm for green cleaning has turned me into one!I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and 3 amazing children. I love the Lord and am grateful to work for a Christian organization. I enjoy family time, travel, trying new restaurants, training for triathlons, jigsaw puzzles, and snuggling up with a good book and a cup of coffee.
