Dr. Welbourne is the Will and Maggie Brooke Professor in Entrepreneurship and the Executive Director of the Alabama Entrepreneurship Institute. She also is the founder, President, and CEO of eePulse, Inc. Additionally, she is an affiliated Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations, Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Dr. Welbourne’s expertise is in the areas of entrepreneurship, with a focus on the role of human capital, leadership and strategy in driving growth and innovation. She works with both new and established organizations to build strength and capability to sustain growth and leverage high change for success. She received her PhD from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1992. Her research has been featured in popular publications such as Inc. Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Business Week, The New York Times, and Entrepreneur Magazine. Her work has been published in several books and in journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, Human Resource Planning, Journal of Organization Behavior, Compensation and Benefits Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of High Technology Management Research. She is a well-known speaker and prolific writer in the areas of entrepreneurship, leadership, strategy, and HRM. Some of her latest work is focused on driving sustainable growth, data-driven storytelling and ways to enhance innovation through employee resource groups (ERGs).Specialties: General leadership, HR leadership and strategy in entrepreneurial, high-growth and high-change organizations.
