The Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) is the voice of local government at a national level, representing the interests of the 560 local councils nation-wide. As Director of Public Affairs I am responsible for ALGA's communications, including a weekly e-newsletter and media releases. I am the point of contact for all media organise media interviews on relevant matters. I am responsible for a number of media events supporting ALGA's key events each year, including the launch of the annual State of the Region's report, the National General Assembly and the National Local Roads and Transport Congress (which also includes the launch of the State of the Assets Report).I also co-ordinate ministerial appointments for the ALGA president as part of the organisation’s advocacy role at a Federal level, representing the interests of local government.

AGL Energy Ltd’s Gloucester Gas Project, is a coal seam gas project, currently in the exploration phase, but with State and Federal approval for development. As Community Engagement Manager I was responsible for the development and delivery of community engagement activities for the project to support the project’s current exploration activities. On the ground, these included stakeholder engagement activities ranging from co-ordinating the Community Consultative Committee, preparing communications such as newsletters and project fact sheets, to organising and taking part in community information sessions to provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project.
