Therese Wright, daughter of Tony & Marva Wright of Belize City, BELIZE and mother of Sheena Luti Musisi, Uganda, and Marques “Ques” Warrick, Northern Kentucky University student-athlete, has embraced a life of community service since a young age. She received a Leadership Award from Nazarene High School, and was a Civil Servant of the Government of Belize where she worked at the Supreme Court from 1991 to 1997. In 1997, Therese was awarded a full academic scholarship from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated in May of 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and has obtained a Master of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati. Therese returned to in Belize in 2004, but the familial, social, and political atmosphere in Belize had changed and found herself back in Kentucky. Only this time, she came to Lexington believing there was a greater purpose for her life. Therese set out to be a part of a church family, and in 2008 she joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she began to faithfully serve the Lord. She was Women's Sunday School Teacher and Director of the Women’s Ministry. Therese currently serves as Assoc. Pastor at Royal Priesthood Ministries. In 2010, Therese received the vision for SISTERS ROAD TO FREEDOM, INC., a support and empowerment non-profit organization for families. ✳️From 2011 to present, Sisters Road has developed and facilitated: 1) numerous empowerment workshops/ seminars, especially impacting women and teen girls, including the well-received “Molding Of Generation Divas” program; 2) the annual Molding of Generation Z summer program for youth and their caring adult; 3) the annual Domestic Violence Awareness Conference. ✳️Sisters Road also serves the community through its weekly food and clothing banks; legal clinics; emergency monetary assistance for medical bills, water, electric/gas bills, and other emergency needs. ✳️Sisters Road To Freedom, Inc. has developed and facilitated seminars specifically for incarcerated women at the Fayette County Detention Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, various churches and groups in Kentucky and Belize, and has worked in conjunction with other non-profit organizations and educational institutions.
