I am very much passionate about the environment, hence, I decided to take advanced studies in Environmental Science. My love for the environment could be attributed to my upbringing. I could honestly say that, I wouldn’t have loved our environment if I hadn’t had a great childhood in it. Growing up, we were always exposed to the natural wonders of this world. We would spend most of our weekends camping or having picnics by the beach or on top of hills. Those were some of my fondest memories. It was when the urbanization rate was relatively lower in our town. Therewith, land conversions weren't that apparent and extensive yet. Whereas, fast forward to now, everything has changed. The morphology of the once verdant landscape is now converted into infrastructures and agricultural lands. For years, our government has focused solely on economic growth which has compromised the ecological balance. This is precisely why I pursued Environmental Science. I wanted to apply my knowledge to assist the government in developing a system that is both economically and ecologically sound. Lastly, I want to protect the environment so that future generations could experience it the way I did when I was younger.
