I predominantly advise on a range of corporate, commercial, IP and governance/integrity matters including:- event hosting terms; - event operations; - venue hire; - commercial structures; - sponsorship;- IP protection and distribution;- use of player image and data;- introducer agreements;- merchandising;- broadcasting;- player participation terms;- buying/selling companies; - investing in companies (from start ups to listed companies using govt. investment schemes like EIS and SEIS) sometimes linked with athlete endorsements; - group re-structuring; - debt finance; - franchising;- company restorations; and- general corporate governance.My most recent work includes advising on:- the legal, commercial and governance aspects of the inaugural 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships; - managing the host procurement process as well as drafting and negotiating hosting terms for the European Professional Club Rugby finals, Season 2 of SailGP, and various editions of the The Homeless World Cup and the World Choir Games; - drafting and negotiating sponsorship agreements for the Glasgow 2019 European Indoor Athletics Championships, the Athletics World Cup and Spartan. - providing strategic and event operations consulting advice for the FIVB in relation to their flagship event - the Men’s Volleyball World Championships.- governance and integrity related advice to international sports federations through Global Sports Investigations, a joint venture offering bespoke, independent investigation and advisory services to the sports industry.- group re-structures for an international entertainment events business and an Olympic athlete.
