Journalism program director responsible for all budgetary and administrative duties related to maintaining and growing the innovative and award-winning Journalism and Media Studies Department. Changed department name, updated all curriculum, expanded into Dual Enrollment, represented the department at all committees and meetings, recruited students and spearheaded program after return to campus from COVID. All aspects of page production, design, printing and distribution for Los Angeles' biggest music publication including dynamic template design, copy editing and style formatting. Worked with publisher to develop paper's unique visual identity through two format expansions, moving first from weekly to monthly and then monthly to quarterly. Created custom branded magazine projects for FYF Fest, Echo Park Rising and Coachella.

Managing the L.A. Weekly's food and drinks section, including fielding pitches, scheduling stories, editing copy and working directly with our team of freelancers to post engaging, thought-provoking daily content to the food vertical. In addition I report and write multiple stories a week and work in collaboration with our full-time food critic and editor in chief to ensure the L.A. Weekly remains a powerful voice in the increasingly exciting food community of Los Angeles. As community/engagement manager for the food vertical, I also post daily to and maintain all social media accounts, and maintain a physical presence in the food and drinks community.

After assisting with the conception, design and launch of the first print publication dedicated to the craft beer community in greater Los Angeles, I continued to work closely with Editor In Chief and Publisher on all aspects of the monthly print edition, which is distributed to more than 300 bars, breweries, bottle shops and homebrew stores throughout the Southland. Duties included writing, editing, generating story ideas for other contributors, content strategy, workflow organization, business forecasting and more. In the final months of working with Beer Paper, I was in charge of all aspects of monthly print layout and production.

Was in charge of all content, web management and editorial decisions for Long Beach's largest independent news source. Daily responsibilities included: writing stories across all sections (including breaking news), curating coverage, posting stories into our CMS, optimizing stories for web, producing stories for web and working with a staff of 30+ freelance writers and photographers to ensure every piece is of the highest journalistic quality.I was hired to usher the one-time blog into a new era of legitimate hyper-local reporting and since starting have created a vision for the paper to be the premiere digital news publication in the city. I implemented policies and style guidelines to create consistency; built, nurtured and managed a staff of local writers; and invested in multimedia tools, training and software in addition to boosting the organization's social media and community engagement. I also represented the paper at all public functions and actively sit on panels and attend local journalism events to promote the publication as well as Long Beach as a whole.

In charge of brainstorming, assigning and editing cover and inside feature stories for monthly lifestyle publication as well as compiling calendar listings, writing the Letter From Editor and working closely with Editor in Chief and writers to ensure magazine identity is maintained.

Started through a summer Internship with the Los Angeles County Commission for the Arts and eventually led into part-time position with company doing various tasks in education, marketing, production and box office.

Worked within the music school visual identity to create programs, flyers, posters and other marketing materials for USC Thornton events. Work directly with department heads on special marketing projects and minor publicity writing for press releases and website.

Facilitated all content for start-up online music television channel including arranging music video submissions, live concert recordings, in-studio performances and on camera interviews for exclusive use on our site. Managed the website's branding and new media identity including presence on Myspace, Facebok, Buzznet and AbsolutePunk.net. Hired and managed a team of 5 interns.
