From 2006 until 2011, I was the leader of a small church in North Dakota. Those four and a half years, right out of Bible college, taught me more about leadership and influence than any class or lecture I ever attended. Not to say my education was irrelevant, I had some amazing professors and took some truly life-changing classes but nothing teaches life lessons like living life. In January 2011 my time as pastor, however, had come to an end. I had just spent the previous 12 years of my life pursuing a path that I believed God had put me on and I was now unsure of where to go next.Of course, the journey was far from over, and through a crazy set of circumstances in March of 2014, God opened a door for me to step on to a new platform. St. Patrick's Day, 2014 was the very first episode of The Schmidt Show. Since that day I have navigated the world of talk radio doing my best to blend my passion for communicating truth and faith, my love for my country and my love for God, and to share myself and my life as openly and honestly as possible with my listeners. I love the medium of broadcasting for more reasons than I can count. Many of my listeners have become friends and a few even feel like family. I have earned a decent living and found a career that allows me the opportunity to communicate and interact with people on a scale I never thought possible.Radio, podcasting, voice-over, public speaking, or anything that allows me to communicate truth to the world in a meaningful way is what I believe God has in store for me as I venture into the future. I can't wait to see what the future holds!
