God has a need in His churches right now. And, as is His way sometimes, I have a combination of education, training and experience that uniquely positions me to assist others in this area: Church Security; especially, for those smaller churches who otherwise could not afford to seek assistance. A Nazarene Minister, I was an honor graduate from the USAF Security Police Academy as a Security Specialist, a successful security consultant to the public, private and not-for-profit sectors as well as city, state and federal agencies; holding degrees in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science and Theology and, an NRA Range Safety Officer and Certified Instructor. I also am a seasoned manager with eight years at the director level and successful conference speaker, Security is a State of Mind. For that to occur, there are changes that must be considered in, not necessarily what we do, but more in how we do it. Meaningful Change is a process; not an event. Luther’s posting his 95 Theses on the castle door requesting debate was the even. The Protestant Reformation was the process. My charge is to encourage the start of dialogue to address new need to consider steps to make our Sanctuaries a true sanctuary from the world around us once again. It is a change that none of us thought we would reach this point in the U.S. during our lifetimes, but it is upon us.Many are concerned that our houses of worship not take on the aura of a place so secure it becomes intimidating to those who need it most. Again, Security is a State of Mind. It might take as little as simply becoming more aware of the events around us, the understanding that if something does not seem right, it needs to be investigated, and the simple knowledge of what to do should an event occur. Reach out, and we can begin a dialogue about risks, needs and possible solutions. And don't be concerned about costs, as I have no products or services to sell.PastorPaulMyers.com
