I served on the food safety team, the safety committee and the hazmat team. I had the opportunity to help determine the culture and values of the company.Recruiting, interviewing and onboarding were an extensive part of the position as we doubled the staff while I was employed and created several new positions. Gaining understanding of the position requirements and finding new sources for candidates helped to make me successful. I partnered with all levels of management to develop and implement staffing plans, conduct interviews, assist managers with candidate selection, source candidates at open houses, career fairs, through the internet and networking, responsible for proposals, making job offers and negotiating salary.I was responsible for the creation of the company’s written safety programs (i.e. fall protections, forklifts, LOTO, confined space, hazard communication, respirators, emergency plans, overhead cranes, etc.), overseeing training, ensuring licenses, observations and annual trainings were completed, participating in OSHA audits, doing monthly inspections and accident investigations.
