I’ve always had somewhat of an affinity for computers; and as I’ve grown older and more knowledgeable about them, the more I’ve wanted to center my career around them. Because of that, IT was the natural career field to start looking at. Most of my experience at this point has come from just tinkering with a computer and seeing what it does. While I have assembled my own computer, I find that I have a slight edge on the software side of things. In terms of practical experience, I was generally the go-to person for technical issues during my late middle school and high school years. This experience has also somewhat transferred over to my current work experiences in fast food and retail; I’ve been the person to contact for troubleshooting any technical issue, ranging from the point of sale system all the way to the ice maker, at both my current and former workplaces. My technical knowledge, reliability, and work ethic has made my managers select me to fill in for them when they are unavailable. And despite wanting to leave the retail space, I’ve worked at maintaining a high standard for my work.
