Index Engines builds enterprise-class software for the Cyber Integrity, Information Governance, Data Management, Compliance and eDiscovery markets. Our software allows companies to manage petabytes of data across primary, backup and archival classes of storage.

I served as Interim CEO of Tacit Networks and led an angel round of financing to restart the company, refocusing it away from its services and towards a technology and storage appliance company that positioned it as one of the early innovators in the WAFS (wide area file sharing) market. At the end of this transitional period I was able to find new funding from the venture capital community, and help recruit a permanent CEO, which ultimately let to the successful acquisition of the company by Packeteer Networks in 2006.

Helped to integrate EMC's acquisition of CrosStor.

Co-founded and bootstrapped CrosStor Software, and served as its CEO through October 2000 when it was sold to EMC. CrosStor was the leading operating system for purpose-buiilt storage NAS and SAN connected storage appliances. It’s OEM customer base included IBM, HP, Compaq, Auspex, Data General and EMC, as well as a long list of specialized storage suppliers and innovative storage startups.
