Design Engineer
Design Engineer of heavy haul locomotives, part of the Mechanical Drives team. Worked on the design of the Combo (wheelset + traction motor assembly) components for the New Product Implementation of the ES43BBi locomotive, from concept phase to serial release under supervision and guidance of the American engineering team.The project required the presentation of design reviews toll gates. Worked together with FEA engineers on running the combo analyses.Lead designers on components development and 2D drawings detailing with GD&T features.The NPI required the implementation and validation PPAPs for the wheelset.-Started an MSA team project to make the Contagem plant ready to repair wheelsets, by defining engineering requirements, cost management and shop floor team training.-Conducted TGs and supervised the truck manufacturing\assembly of C23s locomotives for Namibia-Conducted PPAPs of fabricated and cast components under an Agile\Scrum environment. Supported the Sourcing team on developing and validating vendors.-Supported shop floor and manufacturing with problems and NCR resolution -Create and / or modified 3D models and 2D drawings in NX 8.5, handle the complete data structure (BOM), following the engineering release process, including CCB (change control board) preparation and item activation triggering for releasing the production BOM-Provide cost estimations and should costing analysis- Support the Reliability team conducting Root cause analysis- Provide technical support for field related issues
