Technical authority and management of a team dedicated to R&D of new concepts and technologies related to end-fittings and bend stiffeners. Highly corrosive environments, high temperature and high pressure scenarios are regular boundary conditions to overcome. Use of failure modes assessment, risk analysis and Lean tools to optimize the development process.

Design of ancillaries for flexible pipes (end-fittings, stiffeners, bend restrictors, collars, buoyancy modules, flanges, cathodic protection system, etc...). Specification of materials, heat treatments and coatings to be used in Brazilian pre-salt fields.Engineering team management to deliver ancillaries design as per project schedule and resources. Technical interface with Field Operators to align requirements and expectations. Internal interface with manufacturing unit and vessels to ensure Quality, Health, Security and Environmental requirements are met.

Development of products and equipment for PLSV to be used during pipeline and flexible pipes laying operation. Advanced analysis using ANSYS Workbench (non-linear structural and thermal analysis) to meet international standards criteria (API, ASME, DNV, AISC, etc).Design of test benches for qualifying new flexible pipes products. Technical specification elaboration to market and assessment of technical proposals received. Follow-up of the manufacturing process, visits to suppliers for inspections, preliminary tests and equipment final acceptance. Management of installation, start-up and commissioning of test benches.

Medium and large project management: multidisciplinary team coordination, budget, schedule and quality management. Risk assessment along project execution. Equipment design for tire manufacturing unit in Brazil, fitting it into local requirements of Environmental, Ergonomics and Safety Management Systems.Follow-up of equipment manufacturing in Brazil and Europe: scope of supply definition, supply-chain support, technical follow-up in supplier premises to control the schedule and quality. Preliminary tests execution at the supplier before delivery. Integration of new equipment and production lines: mounting, start-up and commissioning management. Brazil representative in the global network responsible for exchanging experiences between manufacturing units across the globe.

Project execution in structural and thermal areas for companies from Oil and Gas industry, using finite elements methodology and simulation programs PATRAN, NASTRAN and ABAQUS.Assessment, optimization and qualification of subsea equipment and structures (valves, metal-to-metal seals, pipelines, flanges, PLET/PLEM, manifolds, etc).
