Staff engineer for the lab. Responsible for software maintenance and development for the robotic systems (300+ kg wheeled platform with two Kuka LWR arms, Boston Dynamics Spot) used for experiments with Interational Space Station astronauts.- Maintainer of the lab’s Buildroot image (from Systemd to GUI) through qualification as a payload on the ISS. Also maintainer of the associated CI infrastructure. - Primary developer on the software stack (C++, Python, Matlab, Simulink) using DDS for communication.- Maintainer the lab’s infrastructure (Gitlab build servers, S3 cache, OpenVPN, Grafana, Telegraf, RTK GNSS) using Docker and Docker Compose.

## Space Systems Engineering ##- Lead systems engineer for avionics and mobility systems on the Flight-Model design of LUVMI-X, our 2nd generation rover, in accordance with relevant ECSS standards.- Lead systems-engineer for the development of the demonstration model of LUVMI-X, coordinating mechanical design activities and defining the electrical architecture (subsystems, features, grounding & bonding, harnessing).- Definition of the mechanical and electrical ICD for science payloads attached to the LUVMI-X rover.## Robotics & Rovers ##- Wrote the control software for the 1st prototype of the LUVMI rover and user interfaces in C++ and Python and using ROS 1 for communication.- Wrote the control software for the demonstration model of LUVMI-X (ROS 2, RS-422) to drive the vehicle, collect housekeeping data, control payloads, and interface with the Mission Control Centre. - Developed test plans for multi-day analogue testing for our rover platforms. - Defined software and functional safety architectures for astronaut training devices developed in the team with space-medecine specialists from DLR and EAC for ESA. - Developed robotic demonstration showcasing the features of the HOTDOCK robotic mating interface using a Franka Emika Panda robot arm. The demo was used at IAC 2019 and Space'19 to attract visitors to the booth. The demo was implemented in Python using ROS 1, Moovit, RViz.## Image Processing & Machine Vision ##- Developed image-processing algorithms used in subsequent EU-funded projects (contributor to InFUSE using C++, OpenCV and ViSP) using simulation images from Gazebo and data collected from a robotics testbed.- Developed robust multi-marker visual tracking system using custom fork of an ArUco marker tracking library for on-orbit servicing application running on ARM and x86.

- Resident daVinci Surgical System expert, working with the research team developing interfaces using OpenCV, PCL, and ROS. Our research focus was in augmented reality for surgeons. - Developed experience with legacy software systems written in C++- Gained real-world experience in real-time systems and machine vision (OpenCV) - Supervised M.Sc. theses and class projectsI am recognised as a nationwide expert on the use of the daVinci Surgical System in Research applications.
