Gordon S. Blair Law Offices works with both private clients and corporations.Initially hired for an interim contract to assist with filing, reorganisation and inventories of the office library and some marketing. Currently hired permanently with administrative and accounting duties, such as providing the lawyers with translations, preparation of official letters, retyping documents, as well as “portfolio management”. The latter meaning the payment of clients’ supplier invoices, anticipating calls for funds when required, address modifications and changes to supplier contracts. Through my own request I have been taught to do the bookkeeping for these accounts as well as the bank reconciliation. Also, I fill out and file the VAT declarations for two activities monthly. Through previous invoicing experience I have also been brought to assist with our office invoicing and follow-up with reminders for outstanding invoices as well as related in-house reporting. Being multilingual contacts with banks, notaries and lawyers in Monaco and abroad is a part of the recurrent tasks. Further, compiling and distributing press and legal reviews in-house, data base related matters such as opening of client accounts and KYC verifications. I have trained three new employees in the administrative team. Lastly, handling of the switchboard, reception of clients in our offices and errands with various institutions such as the National Tax Office (Direction des Services Fiscaux) and the National Business Development Agency (Direction de l’Expansion Économique) etc.

There are administrative duties related to i.e. the ILO MLC legislation.Working this closely with people outside your own organisation demands well developed social skills and a positive attitude as well as good organizational abilities and being able to efficiently manage your time.As this position includes working towards a budget, it demands a lot of focus, knowing where you want to go and how to use your tools to get there.
