- Senior Privacy Manager supporting Windows 10/11, Surface, HoloLens, devices, and services. Providing technical reviews, analysis and guidance to the product teams within the Windows, Browsers, and Devices group (WBD). Developing internal processes, policies, and tools for improved efficiency, consistency, artifacts, and documentation. Training new privacy managers and providing ongoing mentorship to help them grow and succeed in their role.

– Developing on-demand privacy courses targeting a variety of audiences; company-wide awareness level training, privacy managers new to their role, and advance training for more experienced managers. Creating and delivering instructor-led training for different audiences. TwC privacy manager for product development, Communications team, external engagement, and corporate acquisition onboarding. Community engagement and support. New privacy manager onboarding and training.• Privacy 101 on-demand training completed by 62% of Microsoft FTEs, with an average NSAT of 148.• Standards of Business Conduct privacy module for FY14, required training for all Microsoft FTEs• Privacy community 201 and 301 on-demand courses, completed by more than 3600 FTEs, with an average NSAT of 138.• 100+ reviews performed for TwC Security and Communications teams in the past three years, including hundreds of ad-hoc consults and inquiries.• Privacy analysis and guidance provided for corporate acquisitions (e.g. Skype and Nokia), as well as BG product development (e.g. Windows Phone). • New Privacy Manager Orientation instructor-led training. Driving for efficiency and respectful use of attendee’s time the course was reduced from eight hours in length to three, while maintaining core effectiveness. Delivered the training to 68 new managers over three years with an average NSAT of 174.• Drove the creation of the New Privacy Manager Advisor program, a three month on-boarding engagement providing a first point of contact for new managers. I provided direct support to over twenty managers in the past two years.• Microsoft Privacy Standard instructor-led training. Originally reduced the length of the course from 6 hours to four. Recently leveraged the redesign of the MPS to create a wholly new course with a focus on teaching the audience how to successfully use the document to quickly find the answers they need. The time commitment was reduced to two hours while achieving an NSAT of 147.

– Privacy manager supporting Windows Live, Silverlight, OneCare, Microsoft Mobile, and Microsoft Research. Provided technical reviews, analysis and guidance to product teams outside of the Windows Live BG.• Privacy manager for the Windows Live for the life of the product.• Performed in excess of 300 privacy consults and reviews annually.• Developed the proactive outreach that was presented to government representatives and privacy advocates on the Windows Live Toolbar prior to release, which performed unprecedented data collection at the time, helping ensure a successful release media cycle.• Created a comprehensive notice and consent experience for Windows Live OneCare, which asked the user to allow deep data point collection, and provide new levels of control over their systems… including the capability to install new software.• Established a data collection documentation process, which was used multiple times to facilitate timely responses to regulatory inquiries (e.g. US, Canada, France, Great Britain, and Germany).• Privacy manager for Windows Mobile feature teams.• Privacy manager for Microsoft Research teams located within the WL BG, performing over 50 technical consults and reviews.• Drove a solution to a notice and consent complaint raised by German regulators related to WL Family Safety monitoring. Working with the product team I proposed the solution they would go on to implement and refine to one which provided a notice acceptable to the German regulators, while simultaneously minimizing the impact on user experience.• Support for Silverlight product development.• Privacy manager for product development on BGs outside of the Windows Live organization (e.g. Xbox Live, Azure, Office).

– Privacy manager supporting MSN portals, Internet access service, advertising and Passport authentication service. Managing outsourced privacy inquiry response program, and serving as fourth-tier escalation POC.• Development of a formal privacy process, leveraging MPS Companion InfoPath form. • Drove the creation of a new InfoPath form titled Policy Trak, along with the creation of a PPT review template that enabled product teams to quickly answer the questions necessary for a successful review, and then present it in a logical manner.• Implemented a review process that managed volume by controlling the scheduling and documentation requirements. In addition, proactive engagement with the product teams to drive awareness of privacy and the review process.

–Technical privacy reviews of MSN Portals, MSN Internet Access, MSN Advertising, and Passport. Drove direct customer support outsourcing, creating the program, training, and response templates, and served as third-tier escalation POC.• Analysis of ticket growth projected unmanageable volume, presented business case for outsourcing the work, saving Microsoft over $100, 000 the first year, and providing non-English language support for the first time. Additional customer and product team benefits realized by piggybacking Passport technical support onto this program.• Resolution of high-profile privacy incidents with Hotmail and Passport through analysis and product team engagement, and the creation of appropriate response templates.
