Front-End LeadIrisnet Jul 2020 - PresentAs part of an Atypicals.studio project, I helped IRISnet define its long-term technical strategy for the next 5 to 10 years. This involved transitioning from PHP codebases to an API-first + SPA approach, using GraphQL as a unified API layer and adopting a React-based stack, complemented by a bespoke UI components library.Subsequently, I took charge of the development initiatives for MyIRISnet, their flagship customer care portal, and MyMonitoring, a real-time server monitoring application.Working closely with a UX Lead and Graphic Designer from Atypicals.studio, as well as collaborating with another company for the back-end, I successfully implemented these two applications from inception to completion, taking full ownership of the front-end development aspect. -
Front-End ExpertIdloom May 2023 - Oct 2023As part of an Atypicals.studio project, I helped idloom, a Belgian scale-up, revamp its tech strategy to effectively tackle scaling challenges and establish a robust competitive position in the market. This involved steering away from full PHP codebases towards an API-first + SPA approach. Given their familiarity with the Laravel ecosystem and the prevalence of Vue.js, a collective decision was made to adopt Vue.js with the Nuxt.js framework.Assuming a leadership role, I orchestrated the assembly of the new Vue.js front-end stack while concurrently developing the Vue.js components library. Additionally, I provided coaching and guidance to the front-end team regarding modern web development techniques and to the back-end team on implementing GraphQL and adhering to best practices.Within a short span of 6 months, collaborating with a team of 3 front-end developers, including myself, we successfully shipped 3 new applications: idloom Invoice (invoicing app), idloom IAM (identity & access management app), and idloom Me (customer information app related to event attendance). -
