It covers the entire territory of Benin with the exception of the city of Cotonou where the African Development Bank (ADB) is financing a similar project approved in 2017. PERU concerns 309 localities representing an estimated beneficiary population of one million inhabitants. The project is titled : Entrepreneurship and Empowerment of young Nigeriens facing unemployment in the context of COVID-19.Context:Strengthening the empowerment of young people today is more important than ever and especially the assurance of a stable income, in a context of COVID-19 which has revealed the economic vulnerability of the majority of the population mainly young people living day to day.Our project aims to provide a response to the situation by contributing our stone to the edifice by building the capacities and empowering young people, especially girls, on the installation and deployment of economical solar systems for irrigation (market gardening in particular) in Niger. In terms of sustainability, at the end of this training, they will receive a training certificate, a professional toolkit with technical materials and protection devices. In addition, it is a comprehensive practical training so that the beneficiaries are immediately operational in the market and in the vision that they, in turn, can train other girls and boys to embrace the field of green technology.
