Following a decision of JCT board of Trustees and his president, this Chair has been established in Autumn 2013 to promote research in Torah and Science.The framework consists of my personal work and publications, collaboration with colleagues from JCT and from other institutions and students (see website). The main topics are:1. Differential Geometry in a technology-rich environment.2. Visualization problems and algorithms.3. Mathematics Education with CAS and DGS.4. Torah and ScienceDuring the year, we organize Torah-and-Science evenings for a broad audience, once a year as a joint project with the MEDIF association.Among the topics we deal with are mathematical topics in Talmud, a Torah point of view on space research and cosmology (an evening has been devoted to the Rosetta-Philae mission of the ESA), etc.The work in the Chair framework is also the basis of publications for popular Torah-and-Science, in Hebrew and in French.As a result of my double trend, both in Mathematics and Torah-and-Science, I am part of an international team working on STEAM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). The team is chaired by Prof. Zsolt Lavicza, (Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria) and includes colleagues from Israel, Hungary, Austria, Finland, Slovenia, etc.. Jerusalem College of Technology is an institution of Higher Education. Students are educated towards BSC and MSC in high-tech (electro-optics, electronics engineering, computer science, software engineering, telecommunications engineering, etc.), business management, accounting, and nursing. JCT has also a Science Teaching Department.R&D plays a central role at JCT: electro-optics,solar energy, electronics, lasers, cancer, post partum depression, telecommunications, applied mathematics, virtual reality, etc.During my term as the President of the College, I maintained contacts with the presidents of other academic institutions in Israel and abroad, and was active in contacts with industry and companies working in High-Tech. I am a mathematician, and as such have published research papers in Mathematics and in Mathematics Education. My term as JCT President ended on October 1st, 2013. I never left research in my fields, and returned to it full time, Nevertheless, I continue to be active in PR for JCT and keep my activities with the group of French Friends of JCT.

Ffrom 2006 to 2009 I used to be the Chair of the Math Department at JCT. The two highlights of my term were as follows:1. I enhanced new pedagogical methods in the department, especially ICT-based teaching.2. I put research, both pure and applied, at the forefront of the department action. In particular I established a one-day symposium for the researchers to present their work to a large audience.As a researcher, I am a referee for various journals in Mathematics and in Mathematics Education. I am also a reviewer for the Mathematical Reviews. In 2009, I began serving in the international boards of editors of the following journals: the International Journal of Mathematics Education in Science and Technology, and the International Journal of Technology in Mathematics Education.In October 2009 I became the 5th president of JCT. After having finished my 4 years mandate in 2013, I proceeded further to research in Mathematics, ICT enriched Mathematics Education, and Torah and Science.In particular, I chair the local organizing committee of the Jerusalem Conference on Research in Mathematics Education(JCRME) which takes place every year in February, JCRME 5 in 2017.
