I was appointed to oversee the finances for a commercial real estate company, managing an £18m (>C$30m) portfolio of office and industrial properties. Part of my role is to implement rigorous cashflow forecasting and management to complete portfolio restructuring without taking on new debt.Key Contributions:- Modeled impact of hybrid working evolution on managed estate. Advised on disposals and an acquisition that increased rent roll on those assets by 54% without additional financing and tripling estimated rental value at full occupancy.- Recommended solar as future investment, increasing asset value by >10%, future rental income by >25%, and achieving >20% returns a year from selling electricity generated to the tenant and back to the grid.- Introduced new annual budgeting process and evaluation of operating costs, including monthly variance analysis, to bring costs of managing the estate down by 10% despite inflationary environment.- Identified and resolved pre-existing bookkeeping errors in readiness for accurate year end accounts, reducing external accounting costs by 33%.

I was appointed to devise and launch a start-up D2C online beer subscription service within a larger business (West Berkshire Brewery). I was responsible for all aspects from branding and design to UX, marketing, procurement, fulfilment, and finance.Key Contributions:- Grew B2B sales to exceed those of the established core West Berkshire Brewery’s on-trade business, within first year of operations.

I co-founded a craft beer merchant and grew it to an organization with 20 employees turning over £4.5m+ (>C$7.5m) per annum. Disrupted an incredibly competitive market by sourcing brilliant beers from UK-based independent producers and delivering them with industry-leading levels of service. Supplied some of the most famous names in London including St John, Gymkhana, The Ledbury, and Hawksmoor.Key Contributions:- Launched successful business, growing turnover to >£4.5m pa over 7 years, with >250 active customers.- Negotiated and operated finance facility of £500k then £1m to manage working capital.- Pivoted to direct to consumer subscription service and online shop during initial pandemic lockdown.
