Leading tech projects on behalf of the GKN Fokker Global Technology Centre in the Netherlands (Hoogeveen). After a decade of SCM related roles alongside GKN Fokker its manufacturing operations I took the opportunity to be part of our future aerospace manufacturing technology development.

Leading a team of Master Schedulers and SCM Specialists that drives the supply chain and operations of an approx. 1000FTE part manufacturing and assembly production site.Supporting a multi-customer operation e.g. Lockheed Martin, GD Gulfstream, Boeing Defense, Northrop Grumman, Dassault, NHIndustries, Airbus, etc.Orchestrating the implementation and execution of MPS & SIOP processes.

Leading a team of production planners and operational buyers to support a 110+FTE final assembly operation. Managing internal and external supply. Liaising with program management and working with ops, quality, and technical managers/leads daily.Co-developed the standardization and automation of logistic processes i.e. replenishment of crates and same-day packaging (awarded Kaizen).Introduced MPS within our F-35 value streams as part of the GKN Aerospace former IBP standard. Clear start and delivery targets per day/month/year were set which improved the commitment of the production teams and stabilized overall WIP.

Lead and support change projects by applying the Lean Manufacturing technique of Value Stream Mapping on multiple medium-high volume assembly processes. By managing change, our teams reduced WIP and internal lead time while stabilizing the (growing) output by up to 50%.A central board in production was developed and used to orchestrate TAKT, WIP, and progress by using manual magnets (where operators and the Shop Floor Scheduler track order progress) and a pull ribbon to indicate progress requirements. It turned out to be an effective solution to support a multi-site production flow, supported with clever ERP functionality and updated settings in the background. The board is still in use and this best practice is copied to other low-mid volume value streams within the site.

Support daily operations and automation of the shared resource planning function. Founder of the Shop Floor Control tool, used to date for ERP-driven automated order sequencing and as a WIP monitoring aid in an up to five shift shared resource job shop environment.Over the years this tool evolved into a near real-time user-friendly overview renowned to date for providing insight and guidance in WIP processing for hundreds of colleagues in roughly 10K active shop orders. The tool provides production teams the ability to become self-steering and work on the right parts. Improved WIP status accuracy.Features like component tracking, personalized views, stock-level, actual value and improved visual management were added. The tool has been copied to other GKN sites running BaaN ERP.
