I am an associate in Bird & Bird's Intellectual Property Practice. I specialise in intellectual property law, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, domain names, designs and advertising. I also have expertise in customs regulations and anti-counterfeiting. Before joining Bird & Bird in December 2010, I studied law at the University of Amsterdam; specialising in intellectual property and media law. In the years 2014-2016 I advised an NGO in Uganda before re-joining Bird & Bird in 2016. I have published various articles and contributed to several books, including an international book on law of Computer and Video Games.

Product of Prison is a Dutch non-profit organisation that was founded at the beginning of 2011. POP’s mission is to assist prisoners in developing countries with their successful rehabilitation and reintegration by giving them the skills and opportunities necessary to rebuild their lives and to return to their communities. By acquiring vocational skills, knowledge and work experience during their time in prison, prisoners are better equipped to re-enter society and to avoid recidivism. By providing prisoners with payment for their products and/or services, prisoners are given the financial means to improve their living conditions in prison, to contribute to their families and to facilitate their reintegration. POP aspires to empower prisoners, to restore a sense of humanity, to strengthen prisoners’ connection with society and to build self-confidence.

• Legal volunteer. • Advised children up to 18 years about their civil and criminal legal problems. • Organising and providing information sessions on Children’s Rights in schools. • Active in the PR committee.

Involved in the set-up of “Village Child Protection Committees” in the tsunami affected villages in Cuddalore district. Initiated and produced a “Child Protection Memory Game”. Taught the children in the villages about Children’s Rights and developed a game with drawings from the children to raise awareness.
