•Develop and validate analytical methods using Quality by Design approaches to support drug development and understand both physical and chemical quality critical attributes of the API•Critically evaluate analytical results including the use of statistical evaluation to produce in depth analytical knowledge to support project teams.•Author regulatory dossiers, expert reports and Standard Operating Procedures.•Lead the successful transfer of the analytical test methods for drug substance, intermediates and starting materials to the commercial site(s) of manufacture.•Participate in or lead the resolution of technical issues that develop with APIs during the clinical phase or post-commercialization stage of development, with the goal of maintaining continuity of supply to patients.•Ensure appropriate application of procedures and policies (e.g. GMP and SOPs), and ensure appropriate Quality Control activities are performed throughout development, including:-oProducing analytical test results to support release or rejection of materials by Quality Assurance.oResponsible for the development of specifications for the drug substance, intermediates and starting materialsoEnsuring that equipment is maintained.oEnsuring that appropriate validation of analytical methods is carried out.•Plan analytical contribution to project team and communicates plans effectively.•Effectively use knowledge of regulatory requirements and the product development process.•Work within and across lines, functions and sites to successfully resolve technical or resource issues and facilitate project progression
