As the Director of the Sport Industry Research Center, I supported a talented team of researchers serving the needs of our valued industry partners. Managed over 20 research assistants and student workers. Signed and managed contracts (valued above $1 million) with some of the biggest leagues, events, teams, brands, and charities in the United States evaluating business activities and empirically demonstrating impact.

The SPRTER app is a sport experience platform with the goal of democratizing sport and revolutionizing how sporters and supporters connect.

I teach a three-day intensive seminar focused on destination branding through sport events in the Masters of Sport Business program at Kedge Business School, one of the top ranked programs within France.

I am working as an Assistant Professor in Marketing (Fox School of Business) and Sport Management (School of Sport, Tourism and Hotel Management) at Temple University. My research interests are in the area of brand development, brand architecture, brand positioning, consumer behavior and marketing. In particular, I utilize consumer behavior research to bridge the gap between marketing and strategic management. I currently teach Organizational Strategy in Sport and Recreation at the undergraduate level.

I worked as the project manager for a team of researchers of a consultancy project for Basketball Queensland, Australia. The project involved research concerning the social and economic value of basketball in Queensland, and the future facility needs of basketball associations in Queensland.

My research focuses on a) the development and marketing of sport brands with an emphasis on sport team and sport league branding; b) sport and event consumer behaviour - especially the formation and change of consumers’ attitudes towards a sport and event brand and related behaviour. I taught undergraduate courses including Event Marketing and Sponsorship (HSL 2315), Sport Event Operations (HSL 2316), Strategy and change – a service industry approach (HSL 3001), and Sport Marketing (HSL 3323). I have presented my work at several academic conferences including the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand, European Association of Sport Management, North American Society for Sport Management, European Academy of Management, Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy and published in the European Sport Management Quarterly, the International Journal of Sport Marketing and Sponsorship, and the Journal of Sport Management.

I have been involved with the management and marketing of local entertainment events in south-west Germany. My responsibilities included strategic planning, marketing promotions, team supervision, coordination and execution of events. Furthermore, I was involved in the positioning (change of target market resulted in sales increase of over 300%) and promotion (successful launch of a new product line) of lifestyle liquor brands.

I held a teaching position for water sports (Windsurfing I, II), mountain sports (Snowboard I, II; Ski I, II) and worked as a personal trainer in health and preventative sports (UniFit).

I taught physical education to students from grade 5 to grade 13 at Ludwigsgymnasium.

I tutored German language to first and second year students at the University of Missouri.
