Growing up I had an active interest in my father's general construction business. While working for my father on job sites, I learned the ins and outs of new & remodel construction projects from the ground up.At 19 years old I made the decision to go out and work in the real world. I started in retail sales and was quickly promoted to store manager, then transitioned into a district training manager for all 13 stores. My responsibilities included working with store managers and their teams to operate more efficiently, boost sales and employee morale across the company. In proceeding years I made the move into the communications and technology industries. With an emphasis on business development and B2B sales management on a regional management level.Of special note was my engagement in the medical device industry. I worked within the Neuromodulation division as a Spinal Cord Stimulation CS. This experience provided me an understanding of the use of electric current to treat chronic pain stemming from nerve and spinal cord injury.I worked in the operating room with neurosurgeons and pain management surgeons supporting the implantation of the spinal cord stimulator medical device and was responsible for the programming of the patient’s implanted spinal cord stimulator using anodes, cathodes, pulse width, frequency, rate and amplitude to "light up" the patient’s pain areas. Now in LED lighting I am using the same techniques to illuminate an area. In addition, I was 1 of 3 people that help test and launch a new national business development program within the company. The program's mission was to better educate the medical community and general public on the benefits of spinal cord stimulation to treat chronic pain.My ambitions have always been to have an entrepreneurial opportunity to work with a team and build a company that is in line with my experience, strengths and personal passions of living & working consciously to decrease the carbon footprint.
