Thiru is the founder and CEO of Emergent - an exciting new consulting and solutions company (www.emergent.africa). His passion is to build businesses and make an impact on people and society.He is a Member of the Boards of Platform Capital in Mauritius and South Africa. He is an engaged community member and continues to serve on the Council of St Albans College in Pretoria. He was until recently the EMEA Consulting Marketplace Leader, responsible for the co-ordination of the global Deloitte Consulting strategy and market impact in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. He was also the Managing Director of Deloitte Consulting for Africa for almost 8 years, covering 16 country practices across the African continent. He has previously led the global innovation agenda for Deloitte Consulting and has served on the Global Consulting Executive Committee for the last 7 years. He was previously Deputy Consulting Leader and also led the Strategy and Innovation practice for Southern Africa for 6 years. He was, until 2011, a member of the Board of the Southern African firm. This was also Executive Leader for the Deloitte Africa Corporate Finance business for 6 years, during which time he successfully established Deloitte Capital, now a leading M&A advisory business among the Big 4 in South Africa. He chaired the Board of Deloitte Capital until 2019.As a consulting professional, he has executed a wide range of projects including large transformation projects, technology implementations, and strategy development and implementation. In addition to the power sector, he has facilitated strategic planning processes for a wide range of clients across sector. Thiru also served on the Global Innovation Executive of Deloitte - a firm-wide group that shapes and drives the innovation initiatives across the firm.
