John Kelly is one of Ireland’s best known broadcasters. A SONY Award winner, he has presented some of the best loved and most critically acclaimed music programmes on the Irish airwaves. From his shows on the BBC to the legendary Eclectic Ballroom on Today FM and Mystery Train on RTE1 (now on RTE Lyric FM) and Radio Clash on 2XM, he has always put the music first. On RTÉ Television John is best known as presenter of The View and The Works Presents. He also presents ELEVATION on U2X-Radio on SiriusXM. Sundays 10am ET in US & Canada only.He has written extensively for publications including The Irish Times, The Sunday Business Post and the Sunday Tribune. As a host, chair and public interviewer, John has presented high profile events at venues such as The Kennedy Center in Washington, the Royal Festival in London, The National Concert Hall, The Abbey Theatre in Dublin and the Guggenheim in New York.John has also published two novels with the prestigious publishing house Jonathan Cape. A novel entitled From Out Of The City was published in 2014 and was nominated for Irish Novel of the Year at the Bord Gáis Book Awards. Notions - a debut collection of poetry was published by Dedalus in October 2018.A second collection - Space - was published in 2022. In 2019 John was appointed to the Board of Music Generation.
