Create and manage content across social media platforms for Humane Society International, the international arm of the Humane Society of the United States family of organizations.

As Social Media Manager I was responsible for the creation and execution of Project HOPE’s social media strategy. My goal was to deliver creative, mission-driven, authentic content to supporters in an effort to build our online community, drive engagement, and cultivate our social audience. Secured an overall 36% follower growth across platforms and an engagement rate growth of 165%.

As the Social Media Specialist, I formulated and executed Alley Cat Allies’ social media and fundraising strategy across a range of platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Through the creation, development, and curation of engaging content I increased Alley Cat Allies' overall impact in the social sphere. By collaborating with teams throughout the organization, I ensured best practices and strategic goals were prioritized and continually monitored analytics to identify new opportunities. As the Communications Manager for DC's largest public interest legal group, which serves more than 5,000 of DC's most vulnerable children a year, I worked to make our digital outreach shine. This included writing and executing content via childrenslawcenter.org, Facebook, Twitter, email campaigns, and more. I oversaw print projects, helping translate what lawyers and fundraising staff wanted to graphic designers and printers. Duties included copy-editing and writing for multiple formats and multiple audiences in addition to analyzing data on communications outputs and outcomes.

Edited and fact checked copy for NPR's All Things Considered opinion and books sections. Built pages, published online content, prepared scripts for radio, chose photos and wrote headlines, teasers and captions. I also contacted various publicists as needed to gain approval for excerpts or cover images as well as helped recruit writers and establish contracts. I've also written pieces for publication.

I shot and edited video about how food, fuel and water in Nebraska affect people locally and around the world.

I oversaw a group of 24 columnists, editing theirstories for tone, content and AP style. I also wrote a weekly column covering a variety of social issues,current events and personal experiences.
