About Tara Cox

Tara has worked on magazine titles ranging from men's fashion to golf, celebrity gossip to motorhomes, and science to food. An expert in efficiencies, budgets and operations, Tara is just as comfortable with numbers as she is with words; she shares all her editorial expertise as a faculty member of the Columbia Publishing Course, guiding post-graduate students through the ever-changing field of publishing. In addition to writing her “We Tried It” column for Rachael Ray In Season (where she sampled unusual foods like cricket cookies and tested wacky gadgets like the super awesome press-a-button cocktail machine) her byline has appeared in New York Magazine’s “The Strategist”, the New York Post and Newsday. Tara has reviewed restaurants for the Time Out New York Eating & Drinking Guides and tasted and blogged about more than 30 black-and-white cookies in pursuit of the best of New York City’s classic treat. As founding editor of RVLiving, the award-winning upscale domestic-travel magazine for the motorhoming baby boomer, Tara wrote about all kinds of quirky Americana, from the mermaids of Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida (from which she’s also a graduate of Mermaid Camp), to the debate on the country’s largest ball of twine. In 2013 her book, Airstream: The Silver RV, was rated Highbrow/Brilliant on New York magazine’s Approval Matrix. She also appears in the Alumination, a documentary about the Airstream trailer community. Her passion for food knows no bounds; from diners to Delmonico’s she levels the playing field between highbrow and lowbrow, celebrating truly delicious and authentic foods in any form.
