Designing new protocols for Advanced Synthesis (CH456W) experiments, incorporating greener solvents, waste reduction, and more reliable analytical methods among a team of colleagues. Acting as a laboratory steward, tasks are delegated amongst team members to manage glassware, acid/base baths, and inventory. Findings are presented in weekly meetings and summarized in written progress reports. Inorganic syntheses and characterization methods are carried out individually, including NMR analysis. A formal written proposal is submitted, summarizing new protocols and analytical results.

Utilizing the Library of Congress Classification System (LC) and integrated library system software (Koha, ILLiad) to navigate, locate, organize, and shelve materials, while also providing patron services. These services include checking materials in or out, answering the phone, giving directions, coordinating with adjacent departments, updating account information, and resolving fines. Requiring organization and attentiveness, detail-oriented tasks are also performed on a regular basis, contributing to the general upkeep of the library and, occasionally, special projects. Structured opening and closing protocols are followed in cooperation with the Department of Public Safety.
